Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor face off as the main event of UFC 257. This should be an exciting fight with Conor returning to the Octagon after a brief retirement. This will be their 2nd meeting with their 1st fight occurring 6 years ago. Dustin Poirier had one fight last year which was a decision victory over Dan Hooker (who will also be on the card) and he is 4-1 in his last five with his only loss coming against Khabib. Conor McGregor has been taking his time with the sport only fighting twice in the past four years and in his last fight, it ended swiftly against Cerrone with Conor Mcgregor coming out unscathed.

Dustin Poirer was on a bit of a run prior to his loss to Khabib in which we saw impressive victories over Max Holloway, Eddie Alvarez and Justin Gaethje. Dustin Poirier is a fierce striker with a wrestling background that he rarely relies on. Ideally, Poirier would want to drag out this fight as long as possible in hopes that Conor McGregor exhausts himself. That's a best case scenario for Dustin Poirier if he can get their.

Conor McGregor is one of the best to ever step foot into the octagon with a career like no other. Conor McGregor has dominated his MMA career with his precision and timing. This should be a normal Conor McGregor fight as Dustin Poirier doesn't bring anything to the table that Conor hasn't seen or anything that has troubled him in the past.

Dustin Poirier will struggle significantly to slow down McGregor once he starts to get going as Poirier lacks an arsenal to deal with Conor as he lacks high end grappling to shut down McGregor's advances or the leg kicks to slow down McGregor. Conor McGregor his weakness so with his new camp that should be sorted out to some extent, so McGregor should hold up later into the fight.
