Daniel Rodriguez vs Preston Parsons

  • Preview

Daniel Rodriguez and Preston Parsons are headlining the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night: Makhachev vs Moises. Daniel Rodriguez is coming off of a win against Mike Perry to put him at 14-2. Preston Pardons is entering the UFC with a 9-2 record, Preston Parsons actually fought Mike Perry on House of Fame 3 back in 2015. An inexperienced Preston Parsons was finding a ton of success in the grappling exchanges against an inexperienced Mike Perry until he ate a knee to the head while in the clinch which allowed Perry to find the TKO in the final 10 seconds of the first round.

Daniel Rodriguez will have the striking advantage as he'll keep Preston Parsons away with the jab and straight. Preston Parsons will try to take this fight to the mat but will have trouble closing the distance against Rodriguez. After Parsons gets past the striking of Rodriguez, he'll have to deal with D-Rod's strong takedown defense. If Parsons can get D-Rod to the ground he can work his elite submission game. This will be a tall order for Parsons as this will be a huge jump in competition with D-Rod as his opponent who has the tools to deal with Parsons accordingly and with Parson's opportunities being limited expect this one to go over 1.5 rounds with Rodriguez getting the win.
