Alex Caceres and Kevin Croom are facing off as the opener on the main card of UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs Gane. This fight should be a fun one to enjoy. Alex Caceres is 17-12 with a long tenure with the UFC, Caceres has gone 12-10 with the promotion. Kevin Croom is 21-12 with a no-contest ruling in his UFC debut.
Alex Caceres is a karate-style fighter with a submission game. Caceres basically started in the UFC giving him a ton of experience against some of the best fighters in the world. Alex Caceres has now won his last three fights which included an impressive win over a promising young talent in Chase Hooper. Caceres has the finesse and creativity but often lacks the power to finish fights consistently instead often just outscoring his opponents for decision victories or tapping them out.
Kevin Croom is coming off an impressive win over Roosevelt Robert where he was able to display his power and submission game with a standing submission. That fight ended up being ruled a no-contest since Kevin Croom tested positive for marijuana. Croom also has another notable fight on his resume with Darrick Minner who won in his UFC debut last week against Charles Rosa.
This fight can play out a ton of ways but with this fight taking place in the UFC Apex in Vegas where the cage is smaller, as the cage size is 25 ft as opposed to 30 ft. Kevin Croom gains the advantage in this cage with Alex Caceres's movement being limited. Caceres won't really be able to pick apart Croom and easily get a decision win. Caceres doesn't in any way benefit from fighting in the smaller octagon since he likes space and especially since he's not attuned to it. Croom is making only his 2nd UFC fight and prior to this, he was in the regional scene where this cage size is not uncommon. Croom is gonna have an easier time pressuring Caceres as opposed to if the event was taking place elsewhere.
