The Islanders meet the Flyers for game 3 after the Flyers tied the series up 1-1 in game 2. The Flyers were able to put up 3 goals in the first period but weren't able to respond until overtime to grab the win. The Islanders are up 7-4 in goals, and if you excuse the first period of game two, they would be up 7-1. The Islanders are currently posting a 15.4% power play success rate, while their kill unit is stopping 75.8% of power-play opportunity within the hub. The Flyers ahve a power-play success of just 10% while their kill unit is stopping 81.3% of power-plays within the hub. Carter Hart is likely to take position at goalie for the Flyers with a 1.86 GAA and a 93% save rate since the start of the playoffs. The Islanders with have to decide between Semyon Varlamov or Thomas Greiss. Greiss stepped in the first period after Varlamov allowed 3 goals in the first period. There has yet to be a clear decision on who will take the net for the Islanders. I have to rock with the Islanders on this one, I think the Flyers started off hot in game 2, but their numbers evened out in the following two periods and they were saved by an overtime goal. If the Islanders can better contain the Flyers offense, this should be a clear win for New York.
