MINNESOTA VIKINGS VS INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

The Minnesota Vikings (0-1) face off against the Indianapolis Colts (0-1) in this week 2 matchup.

I expect the Vikings to rely on the run here more often than the rest of the NFL. Kirk Cousins has never thrown over 38 times and with Stefon Diggs gone, they have no real talent at the WR1. They'll rely heavily on Dalvin Cook here to try to get the job done.

For the Colts it's clear they are relying heavily on the pass. Phillip Rivers put up a decent 363 yds and 1 touchdown on 36/46 but was plagued by 2 interceptions. None of their running backs topped 30 yards last week, but I expect Jonathan Taylor to see more carries after losing Marlon Mack for the season. Most of the workload last week was through the air, for the Colts, between Parris Campbell, Jonathan Taylor, TY Hilton and Jack Doyle.

The Vikings defense should come together soon, but this may be a bad week for them with someone like Phillip Rivers constantly attacking through the air. The Colts defense should be able to limit Cousins and force the Vikings to work in short yardage situations.

I like the Colts to cover the spread here, they should be able to contain Kirk Cousins and Dalvin Cook, while Phillip Rivers gets it done through the air.
