Army is filling in for Tennessee as they face off against West Virginia in the Liberty Bowl. West Virginia went 5-4 this season as they endured a brutal schedule that included 21st ranked Oklahoma State, 20th ranked Texas, and 10th ranked Iowa State. Army is boasting an impressive record of 9-2 with their only losses coming against Tulane and 8th ranked Cincinnati.
West Virginia's defense has been impressive this year and will probably help this game stay relatively low scoring. Jarrett Doege has done an excellent job protecting the football as he hasn't tossed an interception in 5 games and has only 3 on the year in total.
Army's defense has been absolutely vital to their success this season as they've allowed 14 points per game which is the 2nd lowest in the Nation. Army will lean heavily on the run as usual which will keep West Virginia off the field who possess the upside.
The defenses will absolutely keep this game a low-scoring contest so Army's offense should be within striking distance all throughout the game. It will be challenging for West Virginia to pull away in this with the defensive play and with Army's offense eating up a ton of the clock with their run option offense.
