The Syracuse Orange are heading to Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina this Saturday to take on the 1st ranked Clemson Tigers on ACCN at 12:00 pm.
Syracuse has been awful so far with a record of 1-4 this season, with their only win so far coming against Georgia Tech who they defeated 37-20. Syracuse's quarterback Tommy Devito has been pretty average with his two games against top 25 ranked teams, Devito not being able to find the endzone and being picked off with a 48% completion percentage and a very pedestrian 144 yards in two games. With Tommy Devito now being injured, Syracuse is now turning to Rex Culpepper who tossed 3 touchdowns against Liberty but completed just under 50% of his throws.
Clemson is arguably the best team in college football right now with star quarterback Trevor Lawrence throwing 15 touchdowns to just 1 interception. This team isn't all Trevor Lawrence though as Clemson has managed to surround Lawrence with some of the best talent in the nation such as running back Travis Etienne and Amari Rodgers. Clemson isn't just a loaded offense as they are also sporting an elite defense themselves that gives up just 12 points per game. With that being said Syracuse has no shot in this one with the line opening at 38.5 and now moving to 45.5, I don't see how Syracuse is even suppose to move the ball let alone score in this one against a tough defense so I'm going to side with the under and hope Clemson doesn't decide to drop 60 but if I had to take the spread I'd go with Clemson -45.5 as Syracuse will be at their mercy and it's just a matter how many points Clemson wants to score.
