The Washington Wizards are taking on the Houston Rockets. The Washington Wizards are 3-9 and will be playing their 2nd game back after dropping their fist to the Spurs. The Houston Rockets are 6-9 after winning two consecutive games against the Mavs and Pistons. Eric Gordon is coming off a huge game to help crack open the win, wide open against the Dallas Mavericks in which he scored 33 points.
The Washington Wizards have had almost half of their scheduled games postponed up to this point which has its pros and cons. One of the pros was that it gave time for players to recover from any injuries such as Russell Westbrook who was dealing with a quad injury. Bradley Beal's production was unaltered with 31 points against the Spurs. Russell Westbrook had a very unproductive day leading me to believe the quad injury is still an issue. Rui Hachimaru is also questionable with an illness which would be a massive blow with Russ already being limited.
The Houston Rockets are also dealing with a slew of vital injuries with John Wall coming off a knee injury as well as Victor Oladipo but the biggest of them all is Christian Wood being listed as doubtful with an ankle injury. Like Russ, John Wall appears to still be held back by his knee injury. Eric Gordon and Demarcus Cousins did an excellent job for their team with expanded roles.
There will be a lot of missing players in this one with the Washington Wizards still recovering from COVID with 5 other players, not including Rui Hachimura are out dealing with COVID-19 and with Houston's starters dealing with injuries of their own. The lack of a bench for the Wizards will be their downfall as all scoring responsibilities will be on Bradley Beal and he's already dropping 30+ and still managing to lose. Theirs not much else Beal can do to save this team except to try and drop a Wilt Chamberlin. The Rockets will score with ease especially in the paint with the Wizards being without their best defenders. If Bradley Beal can come through this game will turn into a high scoring shoot out with the Rockets not exactly having an elite defense themselves. I like the Rockets -4 here and Over 233.
