The Toronto Raptors are taking on the Washington Wizards who are coming off of a win. The Raptors have been finding a ton of success lately winning four out of their last five games with their sole loss coming against the Atlanta Hawks who scored 132 points on 56.8% from the floor and 52.8 from beyond the arc. The Washington Wizards are coming off a win against Chicago to put them at 6-15 on the year.
The Toronto Raptors are coming off a dominating win over the Memphis Grizzlies where they scored at 54.5% from the floor, scoring 128 points. Siakam and VanVleet had big a game against Memphis and have been on a tear as of late, should they keep up the production they'll breeze through the Wizards. The depth of Toronto is not to be taken lightly as Powell and Boucher have hit their stride.
The Washington Wizards were able to defeat the Chicago Bulls with Bradley Beal dropping 35 points in the victory. Washington however was not very efficient scoring 41.9% from the floor and shooting a horrible 23.1% from the three with 26 shots taken from beyond the arc. The Wizards won this game based on their defensive play which is an outlier since they usually get blown out or get involved in a shoot-out. The Wizards have struggled on the defensive end and they have left everything on the shoulders of Bradley Beal which is not a recipe for success if they can't even hold their end of their bargain on defense, in fact, Beal said it best himself after getting blown out by the Hornets, "We've gotta have some pride, man, some dog". Washington's offense is too inconsistent but they'll have Russell Westbrook back in the fold who can create spacing, but if guys cant hit their shot it's all for nothing.
Like Beal said himself this team lacks pride, the players on this team have ONE JOB play defense and they win, am I oversimplifying this, sure, but how a player can drop 60 points and still lose is beyond me. With how the Raptors have been playing as of late I expect them to demolish the Wizards if the Wizards can't hit their 3's.
