76ers vs Nets

  • Preview

Philadelphia 76ers are taking on the Brooklyn Nets. The Philadelphia 76ers are 7-1 and are coming off a shootout with the Washington Wizards who were led by Bradley Beal with 60 points. The Nets are 4-4 and are coming off a blowout victory over the Jazz 130-96.

The 76ers have gotten off to a tremendous start this season with their only loss coming against the Cleveland Cavaliers when the Sixers were without Joel Embiid. The 76ers had an offensive explosion with Joel Embiid leading the way with 38 points with Seth Curry being automatic from beyond the arc scoring 28 points on 6 of 7 from beyond the arc.

This offense has so many ways to hurt opposing teams with Joel Embiid obviously being unstoppable, Simmons and Harris being capable of posting huge stat lines, and Green and Curry from the 3. Then theirs the bench with Shake Milton who's capable of being a starter, with there being some other nice players on the bench making the Sixers one of the most complete teams in the NBA. Philly's defense is one of the best in the league as it feels like they don't have a hole on the defensive end despite having so much offense.

The Nets were able to secure a dominant win over the Jazz despite missing Kevin Durant who is still out due to COVID-19 Protocol. Kyrie had a great game along with Allen and LeVert who were able to step up with KD being out.

The Sixers are firing at all cylinders right now and are really coming together under Doc Rivers right now. The Nets have seemed to bounce back but I don't see Kyrie being able to dominate with this Sixers defense, the Sixers have too many defensive-minded players so they shouldn't have a problem scheming how to shut down Kyrie. The Nets would need major contributions from the rest of the cast to win. The Sixers just match up too well against a KD-less Nets team so I'll gladly take -1.5 SIXERS.
