Timberwolves vs Hornets

  • Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking on the Charlotte Hornets. The Minnesota Timberwolves are on a three-game losing streak with their most recent loss coming against the Los Angeles Clippers, putting them at 6-19 on the year. The Charlotte Hornets are coming off of a blowout 130-114 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies to put them at 12-14, but prior to that loss, the Hornets were able to score two blowout victories themselves against the Rockets and Wizards.

The Timberwolves have struggled greatly without their best player in Karl Anthony-Towns, but now he's back and that should provide some momentum for the time being. KAT in his first game back had 18 points against the Clippers and with that being his first game back after missing thirteen, I hope he has able to knock off all of the rust. Malik Beasley has been holding down the fort in the meantime scoring 20.6 points per game. The Timberwolves are quite healthy though as they'll be without D'Angelo Russell.

Lamelo Ball has been playing fantastic as of late in relief for injured Devonte Graham. Gordon Hayward has been the man on offense as the Hornets have really made that next step into being a playoff contender.

This is a completely different team with KAT but with no D'Angelo and this being the Timberwolves it's hard to gauge just how much the players are going to rally behind KAT. Lamelo ball has really hit his stride as he is averaging 21.7 points this month. I love the fact that KAT is back but without D-Lo, as a safety net, it's pretty hard to trust the Timberwolves versus the Hornets. The Hornets have shown that they can compete with some of the better teams in the league and without the Timberwolves being a wildcard, I'll be taking the Hornets.
