The Los Angeles Lakers are facing off against the Houston Rockets. The Lakers are already coming off a Rockets victory to push them to 8-3 with a strong performance from Anthony Davis. The Houston Rockets have gone 3-5 so far into the season with the James Harden drama cooling down a bit. The Lakers led throughout the majority of the game not giving up the lead after the first few minutes.
The Lakers defense has been improving and had a great showing against the Rockets. The Lakers led throughout the majority of the game not giving up the lead after the first few minutes. The Lakers were able to force 21 turnovers and were only allowed 29.3% from beyond the arc.
The Rockets have some question marks about the availability of some of their players, with John Wall and Eric Gordon questionable. The Rockets shot very poorly against the Lakers and that can not happen if they want a chance to win this game. Christian Wood has really grown as a player as he may be the future of this team should they move Harden. They'll need Christian Wood once again to help keep this game close. If Woods can hit from the 3 it'll open up more opportunities.
The Rockets have been hard to trust as a team despite the strong individual performances. Harden will have to step up and carry this Rockets team which is nothing new as he's been doing it for years. The Lakers defense is capable of shutting out key Rockets players. I'll leave the 4.5 on the table and take the Lakers on this one.
