Charlotte Hornets vs Philadelphia 76ers

  • Preview

The Charlotte Hornets will face off against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Hornets faced off against the 7ers just this Saturday as they lost 112-127. The Charlotte Hornets are sitting at 2-4 with their wins coming against the Nets, and Mavericks. The Philadelphia 76ers are currently 5-1 with their only loss so far coming against the Cavaliers.

The Hornets have relied on strong performances from Terry Rozier with Gordan Hayward and LaMelo Ball coming through at times. Devonte Graham was supposed to be a key component this season but he has been lackluster so far and I wouldn't expect that to change against a strong defense. The Hornets are averaging 108.3 points a game while giving up 111.3 per game.

Cody Zeller will be unavailable against Philly with P.J. Washington listed as questionable which would be a major blow.

The changes to this Philly squad appear to be working out so far under Doc with Seth Curry being a major contributor and providing the much needed shooting. The Philadelphia 76ers are scoring an average of 109.8 points while giving up 101.8 per game. Embiid has played well with the changes and is the leading scorer as he's scoring an average of 25 flat per game.

The Charlotte Hornets will have a hard time guarding against the likes of Joel Embiid as they are simply outsized. Jalen McDaniels will need to step up should P.J. Washington miss which doesn't ensure me against a Sixers squad that is defensively sound. The Hornets weren't able to cover with a P.J. Washington in the lineup so why would I be more confident in the Hornets without him.
