Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics

  • Preview

The Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics will face off Christmas day. The Nets and Celtics were both victorious in their season openers against tough competition. The Nets were able to dominate the Curry-led Warriors 99 to 125, with strong performances from Kyrie and KD in his first game since his playoff injury with Golden State. The Boston Celtics defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 121-122 after a game-winning step back from Jason Tatum.

The Brooklyn Nets shot extremely well against Golden State while slowing Stephen Curry and company. Kevin Durant is now healthy and returned after missing the entirety of last season, Durant scored 22 in his Nets debut and the Net's bench continues to impress after their spectacular play in the bubble. The Nets played excellent defense holding Stephen Curry to 2-10 from beyond the arc for a grand total of 20 points when all was said and done.

Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown served as the hard carry for the Celtics as they both scored 30 plus points and with the departure of Gordon Haward, more of the scoring duties will fall upon Brown and Tatum which is a plus in some ways considering just how talented this duo is. The Boston Celtics will continue to be without Kemba Walker for a while it seems which isn't a big deal considering he is more of a luxury than a necessity. Tristan Thomas may return which is good news but I like Jarrett Allen's potential an upside more.

These two teams pose extremely potent offenses making the Over in this one interesting, but I prefer the Nets veteran duo of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant alongside their bench much better in this one.
