Hawks vs Mavericks

  • Preview

The Atlanta Hawks are taking on the Dallas Mavericks at 7:30 eastern time. The Atlanta Hawks were able to get back in the win column with an impressive 132-121 win over the Toronto Raptors to snap their three-game losing streak putting them at 11-12 on the season. The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a two-game win streak against the Timberwolves and Warriors putting them at an underwhelming 11-14.

Trae Young leads this offense with 26.7 points with De'Andre Hunter and John Collins both averaging 17 points. Capela has dominated the boards for Atlanta with an average of 14.6 per game which is good for the most in the league. The Hawks will be without De'Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

The Dallas Mavericks is finally putting a string of wins together. Dallas has had their issues despite having a generational talent in Luka Donvic, as their defense has been below average and Porzingis's play has been hampered by a knee injury sustained early this year.

Dallas has struggled to lay points this season but Porzingis did just score 27 tying a season-high and has converted 50% or more in three of his last four games. I don't love this spread but with the Hawks missing De'Andre Hunter and Bogdanovic makes this bit of an easier pill to swallow. While both of these teams have great offensive talent both of these teams play at a slower pace, so the game isn't as likely to be high-scoring. I'm going to side with the Under as opposed to taking -3.5 points, but are both are viable since Atlanta will be missing a key piece in De'Andre Hunter.
