Today’s matchup is Game 6 of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays (40-20) and the Los Angeles Dodgers (43-17). The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently up in the series 3-2 after a solid performance from Clayton Kershaw.
The Tampa Bay Rays are starting either Blake Snell (LHP), who has an ERA of 3.24, a FIP of 4.35, a wOBA of 3.07, K% of 31%, BB% of 8.9%, 87.8 MPH average exit velocity, and a 1.22 WHIP.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting Tony Gonsolin (RHP), who has a 2.31 ERA, 2.29 FIP, .247 wOBA, K% of 26.1%, BB% of 4%, 88.7 MPH average exit velocity, and a 0.84 WHIP.
The Rays are the best in the Majors in Relieving Pitching (WAR) while the Dodgers are 3rd.
On the hitting side, the Rays have a .325 wOBA and a .328 OBP. The Dodgers have a .350 wOBA and a .338 OBP. The Rays have 80 HRs this season while the Dodgers have 118 HRs.
This World Series has gone back and forth with neither team being able to break away from the other. Blake Snell was able to lead his team to a victory against Tony Gonsolin, Tony Gonsolin only played 1.2 innings as the Dodgers turned to their bullpen early. Tony Gonsolin may play longer in this one but I'm not counting on it since he's been used sparingly in the postseason. With how Game 2 went full out with the bullpen I'm liking the Rays Moneyline with how close this series has been, but I like the over on this one even more at just 8.
